Sad Goodbyes

One final feast to end Mama Jo's visit.  Thanks Elizabeth and Dustin for hosting us!  To mark the occasion Connor made it through yet another photo session but some cute pics were the result.  He folded his hands...

Put on his Feltman Bros. gown and his monogramed shoes....

Got a kiss from Papa in solidarity for having to sit through the photo shoot...

Looked sweet for a short while...

And finally threw up his hands! Is this face not saying "Come on people, enough already, you are killing me here!"

We love you MJ, and will miss having you around!

Happy Birthday America!

Connor's first 4th of July parade started like this.....

And continued like this...
A little Snappy show off in the middle...

And it ended like this...

Does it count as a first parade if he doesn't even know he was there?

If it is Farmer's Market, it MUST be summer!

7/3/2010

You know it is summer in Lake Oswego when the whole town turns out for the farmer's market.  Connor had his first visit and his blanket had the chocolate from those yummy donuts to prove it!  Papa thought he was a pretty hot chick magnet holding the baby!

I swore I would never take a stroller to these things and who needs to with so many loving arms willing to hold the baby.  As usual, Connor snoozed through the whole morning.

Roll, Roll, Rollover?

Michael had a softball game, Papa was out of town, so Connor and I ventured out on our first solo trip!  The car ride to Snappy's was successful and we spent the evening with her and Mama Jo.  Snappy thought Connor needed "tummy time" and as we sat there talking to him he flipped himself over  - twice!  Mama Jo wasn't there to witness it so after dinner back on the floor he went and a few kicks, twists and turns and he was on his back.  He had a bit of a tummy ache so maybe that was the cause of the kicking and squirming...it has never happened since but we have a new realization that no matter how little he is we better not leave him on that changing table alone.

One small happy family!

6/29/2010

One small happy family is all we really wanted when Grandma Susan arrived to take a picture for Michael's grandparents....apparently Connor was NOT in the mood.

A Baby Divided

You all know that we are a house divided and looks like we will have a baby divided too!

When Connor was first born and he was crying in my mom's arms, Michael handed her a blanket and she said she did not want it because it was the one I had just been holding and nursing him in and it probably smelled like me.  Well, that was all Michael needed to decide that he must have his OWN (smelly?) blanket for Connor.  Now if I could just get that orange fuzz off of everything!

But that is ok because really he is a Duck at heart!

Sweet Southern Baby Clothes

6/28/2010

Connor has a closet full of sweet southern baby clothes.  Who knew that the Pacific Northwest need much more cozy clothes.  But this Feltman Brothers gown looks pretty cute.  Now if it would just get warm enough for him to wear all these beautiful clothes Snappy and Mama Jo would like that!

Baby or Bomb?

So this house bound thing is getting to Michael a bit. While I look forward to the chance to snooze, he headed out EARLY one morning on a walk to see the balloons take off at the Tigard Hot Air Balloon Festival with Connor snuggled in the BabyBjorn. The security cops stopped him to ask "Is that a baby or a bomb?" Michael's reply - "Definitely a baby but he can certain let out some bombs!"

Like Father, Like Son?

6/27/2010

Lest you think Michael is getting soft eating those Five Guys burgers, I thought you might want to check this one out!

Based on Connor's hands, feet and the long torso, we think he is going to be built just like Dad!

Happy Birthday Parker

6/26/2010

Happy First Birthday to Parker Hoagland! While this was Connor's official birthday party, does it count if he slept through the entire thing and has no idea of the fun he missed? At least he never saw Parker destroy that cake so he doesn't know what he has to look forward to...who needs icing when all you want to do is nurse, nurse, nurse. Aunt Elizabeth and Snappy did dress Connor pretty cute in Ralph Lauren for the party though which led for a nice surprise for Mama Jo when we laid him in the bed with her upon our return from the festivities.

My Dad Can Eat A Burger As Big As My Head!

6/24/2010

So by now we have the trip to the doctor's office down!  The great thing is that we have a family practicioner, Dr. Endo.  She has been my doctor since I moved to Oregon when I was 10 years old.  She has seen me through shin splints, anemia, adolescence...and now pregnancy and childbirth.  And what is even better is she delivered Connor and is now his doctor too!  In fact she is my whole family's doctor and when my dad was eating taco bell in the waiting room while I was in labor she said it was OK because she could just up his cholesterol meds!

Connor was off for a two week check-up and after the visit we stopped for a treat at Five Guys!  Check out the size of Michael's burger...maybe Joyce needs to up his cholesterol meds too!

Angel Boy

This is backtracking a bit but I just came across this picture.  The day Connor was born a man from St. John Parish came by our hospital room and gave me Communion and gave Connor a blessing.  This was the picture snapped right after that...I swear it was not posed.  How is this for a little angel?

Visitors!

We can't begin to say how much we love all the neighbors, family and friends who have arrived bearing food and gifts.  Thanks Robin & Lilly, Blake & Casey, Allison & Parker, Shannon, Christina, Margo, Molly... We love you all and can't imagine how much harder this would be without your support!

Happy Father's Day!

6/20/2010
How fun to get to wish Michael "Happy's Father's Day!"  And Papa got his first "Happy Grandfather's Day!"  Grandpa Greg was at the beach but I think they all three agree Connor is the BEST father's day present ever.

Eating, Drinking, Dancing, Snuggling and Snoozing

6/19 - 6/21/2010
Over the next few days...there was a whole lot of cooking...

A bit of Snappy's cocktails...

A little dancing....

And a whole lot of cuddling!  Connor slept through most of it all!

Out to Dinner!

6/18/2010

It has only been one week but cabin fever is starting to sink in...at least for Michael.  My cousin, Holly arrived  - another VIP visitor from Arkansas.  What a sweetie to come all this way to see our baby boy!

Connor seemed ready to hit the town for his night out.  Our party animal snoozed through a wonderful dinner at 50 Plates despite his Papa's attempt to place a bottle of Tabasco in his hands - look out Connor, he once promised Elizabeth a puppy if she ate that stuff!  Although we did get little Sadie Lou after that.
